At the heart of Seafood 4 Africa 2024 in Dakhla, the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) takes a leading role in driving sustainable development in the fisheries and aquaculture sectors, setting the stage for economic transformation across the continent.

The international forum Seafood 4 Africa 2024, focused on the advancement of Africa’s fisheries and aquaculture industries, is currently gathering key stakeholders in Dakhla, Morocco under the theme: “Enhancing Fisheries and Aquaculture Governance for a Sustainable Future in Africa.”

A significant participant in this pivotal event is the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), underscoring the central role of fisheries and aquaculture in Africa’s economic integration and growth strategies.

AfCFTA’s Vision for Africa’s Fisheries Sector

Mrs. Fatoumata Fofana Boundy, National Executive Secretary for Côte d’Ivoire of AfCFTA, highlighted the forum’s importance and expressed appreciation for the invitation extended by the National Federation of Fish Processing and Valorization Industries (FENIP). She emphasized:
