The project will be implemented by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania over 4yrs.
At the end of July 2021, the European Commission concluded the negotiations for a new sustainable fisheries partnership agreement (SFPA) with Mauritania for a period of 6 years, tacitly renewable. On the same day, the protocol of this new agreement was signed. It entered into provisional application on 16 November 2021.
The Summit between the European Union and the African Union, which will take place in a few days, is an opportunity to give a voice to African artisanal fisheries stakeholders and civil society to identify how partnership relations between Africa and Europe can help support sustainable artisanal fisheries in Africa
